How do students use the RCEA approach as a guide to reflect on content?​
The reflective journal is designed for students to reflect weekly on the concepts they are learning about, in order to become active reflectors.
The review, connect, extend, apply approach is a progressive four step model that encourages students to:
  1. Review and Reflect on the content being learnt,
  2. Connect what they have learnt to past experiences,
  3. Extend their knowledge through research,
  4. Apply this new knowledge to authentic experiences.  
In the journal, students are presented with an example of a reflection using the RCEA approach on ‘self-sabotage’. They are invited to practice on the following page and it is suggested that they reflect on a previous learning experience.

As the educator, we would like to provide you with free access to this journal for you to use in your own classroom setting.
